Vision Statement
To be a strong, connected community of HR professionals shaping workplaces across Maryland.
Our Impact: how we empower the profession
To achieve our mission of advancing HR and bridging connections, the Maryland SHRM State Council provides dedicated support and resources through four key pillars: SHRM Maryland is an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Whether you are new to the HR field or have many years of experience, we are a local starting point for networking, information, professional development, and continued support of excellence in Human Resources!
- Professional Development: We deliver Maryland’s premier HR learning event through the Maryland SHRM State Conference, bringing together HR professionals for education, networking, and professional growth.
- Community Strength: We strengthen Maryland’s HR community by encouraging statewide networking and learning opportunities for members and chapter leaders to share ideas and support.
- Chapter Guidance: We support and guide local Maryland SHRM chapters by sharing vital resources, leadership development tools, and operational best practices.
- SHRM Alignment: We connect Maryland chapters with SHRM initiatives, ensuring all local efforts align with national priorities and professional standards.
- Legislative Advocacy: We serve as the voice of Maryland’s HR profession by monitoring state legislation, hosting Advocacy Days, weekly updates during session, and providing critical updates on laws like the Maryland Wage Transparency Law and MD DOL FAMLI requirements.
We are made up of 10 local chapters. Join your local chapter today!
